World Orthoptic Day 2026 Picture Contest

Dear IOA Orthoptists around the world,

This
year we celebrate World Orthoptic Day (WOD) on Monday, June 1st 2026. Following our tradition of celebrating this day with a picture contest, we kindly invite all members of the International Orthoptic Association (IOA) to submit their most creative entries. This year’s theme is:

EcoVision: Where Orthoptics Meets Environmental Care.

Show us how orthoptics can look sustainable – innovative ideas, ecofriendly practices, and green thinking in vision care. As climate change continues to shape our world, sustainability reminds us to take responsibility for our environmental footprint and support longterm planetary health. In orthoptics, this means recognizing our place within a broader healthcare system and contributing to a future where caring for people also includes caring for the planet.

We are excited to announce that Trusetal Verbandstoffwerk GmbH is our sponsor for this year’s WOD Picture Challenge. They will be awarding a LEA-3D-Puzzle as first prize. The LEA-3D-Puzzle is designed for training and assessing normal infants as well as children and adults with hand motor difficulties. It also serves as a valuable tool in the neuropsychological evaluation of patients with brain injuries.

The winner of this year’s WOD Picture Challenge will be announced by 28th June 2026. All members in good standing are eligible to compete for the prize. Only one prize will be awarded and will be sent directly from Trusetal Verbandstoffwerk GmbH to the lucky winner.
