Dear members of the IOA,
In light of COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation, the IOA made the prudent decision to reschedule the IOA congress that was to have taken place June 20-23 in Liverpool, UK. As indicated in our previous message, the health, safety and well-being of the IOA global community is our highest priority.
By postponing, we are able to minimize costs to our association and keep the United Kingdom as our host for the 14th congress of the IOA. We are delighted to let you know that the dates for the Congress has now been confirmed as:
Thursday 9th – Sunday 12 June 2022
If you made any hotel or flight/travel arrangements to attend the 2020 Congress, we urge you to cancel these reservations. IOA congress registration fees can be carried forwarded to the 2022 IOA Congress, but we would be happy to fully refund your registration upon your request. Please provide your preference via this link.
The orthoptic community is greatly affected by our lost opportunity to present the latest research and interact with colleagues at the congress this year. For more information related to your current abstract submission, please see an important communication from the Congress Scientific Program Committee via this link.
We are grateful to everyone who has worked tirelessly with the planning of IOA Congress 2020. We ask for your continued patience and understanding as we work to address your questions and provide additional information to those impacted by our decision to reschedule the IOA congress to 2022.
Thank you for your continued support of the IOA Congress.
Jan Roelof Polling, IOA President
David Newsham, Chair Local Organizing Committee
Darren Oystreck, Chair, Congress Scientific Program Committee
