Ulrike Pichler received the Franz Anton Hamburger Preis

We want to congratulate our colleague Ulrike Pichler, MSc from Austria for receiving the Franz Anton Hamburger Preis in May 2022. We are especially proud since she was the first orthoptist ever to receive this award.

The Franz Anton Hamburger Preis is awarded by the Consilium Strabologicum Astriacum (CSA) for exceptional scientific accomplishments in the field of strabismology. Ulrike Pichler received this award with her Multi-Centre-Study titled “A comparative study of various prism adaptation forms in the surgical management of esophoria”, available in Acta Ophthalmica (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/aos.15004 ).

Ulrike Pichler has been working as orthoptist – by now as the head of the orthoptics department – at Kepler Universitätsklinikum Linz since 2011. She received her Masters of Science (MSc) in Mediation and Conflict Management from the EMCA Academy in 2010 and is currently doing a Masters in University Didactics for Health Care Professionals at the FH Gesundheitsberufe OÖ.

Ulrike “Ulli” Pichler is a highly esteemed orthoptist who is renowned for her educational lectures at various congresses in Austria and Europe.
