Give a gift, Send a card and Deliver hope!
Participate in the IOA ethical gift giving campaign this holiday season!
The Campaign:
The IOA is working with the Nigerian Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Society (NIPOSS) to provide orthoptic education for Nigerians who will work with local pediatric ophthalmologists to provide orthoptic services in that country. The eventual goal is to develop an orthoptic education program. Currently there are no orthoptists in Nigeria. We have made arrangements to send a Nigerian optometrist selected by NIPOSS to the world renowned Aravind Health Care System in India for a 6 month orthoptic training program. We will be supplementing that education with IOA teaching volunteer instruction. Cindy Pritchard and orthoptist, Christiane Paschke coordinating this project. All donated funds will go directly to the education of an orthoptist for Nigeria.
We are asking for IOA members to consider participating in our ethical gift giving campaign this holiday season. Similar to other charity campaigns where you see goats, cows, and new water filtration systems being donated we are asking IOA members to make a gift donation of an orthoptist for Nigeria. When a donation is made we will send the donor’s recipient a gift card indicating the gift was made in their name. We will provide the donor with a charitable receipt. All donations can be made directly to IOA Treasurer, Jane Tapley treasurer@internationalorthoptics.org , Donations can be made via PayPal.
So help us provide a gift of hope and make a truly meaningful gift this year.
