IOA Volunteers Needed!

IOA Volunteers Needed! The IOA is in desperate need to find qualified teaching volunteers to help in Malaysia. The IOA hopes that this volunteer project proves successful. If so, the hospital has promised to establish the first Malaysian orthoptic training program. You could help make a lasting impact on orthoptics in the region!

This volunteer opportunity requires a minimum commitment of 3 weeks and funding is available.  Volunteers will have their roundtrip airfare to Malaysia and accommodations covered while there.  If you like, you can bring a friend or partner to stay with you in the apartment. This is a nice way to volunteer, help the profession and to see the world.

We ask that if you are not a current IOA teaching volunteer, that all interested orthoptists complete the IOA Volunteer application form to be a teaching volunteer.  This requires that you submit your curriculum vitae and the contact information for two references.  Please refer to the attached application (saved in three different formats) for more information on becoming an official IOA volunteer.  This application can also be downloaded from the members section of the IOA website.  All applications will be reviewed by the IOA to insure that the applicant has proper teaching qualifications.  For more information pertaining to this volunteer opportunity in Malaysia, please contact the Director of the IOA Volunteer Program: Cindy Pritchard (cindyhpritchard@gmail.com) and IOA President, Karen McMain (president@internationalorthoptics.org).

Thank you for your support of this important IOA volunteer project.
