Reknowned Canadian Pediatric Ophthalmologist, John Pratt-Johnson, passed away recently following a brief illness. He was well-known for his insightful textbook on the Management of Strabismus and Amblyopia: A Practical Guide, that he co-wrote with Orthoptist Geraldine Tilson.
A long-time supporter of orthoptists, Dr. John Pratt-Johnson, was instrumental in introducing orthoptics to Nepal via his work with Orbis and SEVA. He was an Emeritus Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. He mentored and inspired the current generation of pediatric ophthalmologists and orthoptists. His support went beyond orthoptic boundaries. He will be greatly missed.
